Meet Punky

Punky is a joyful, affectionate greyhound who has returned to foster care and is once again looking for her forever home. She was previously adopted and very much loved, but due to illness in her adoptive family, she was heartbreakingly returned through no fault of her own. While that transition was emotional for everyone involved, Punky has settled back into foster care and is ready for a fresh start with a family who can offer her long-term stability, love, and care. 

Punky herself remains the same happy, fun-loving girl who thrives on affection, routine, and being part of a family.

 

Personality & Temperament:

Punky is a happy-go-lucky greyhound who approaches life with enthusiasm and curiosity. She is confident, friendly, and keen to try anything at least once. Affection is her love language, and she is very cuddly, currently learning what “personal space” means as she happily soaks up pats, hugs, and attention.

She is playful, loving and full of personality, making her a joy to have around.

 

Home Life & Routine:

Punky is thriving in her foster home, where she lives happily alongside her dog  “brothers.” She is toilet trained and has adapted very well to home life, enjoying all the comforts that come with being an indoor dog.

She is an intelligent girl who is already showing her clever side and has even learned how to open French doors using her paw. A home that can provide both structure and stimulation will help her continue to shine.

 

Exercise & Enrichment:

For a greyhound, Punky is on the more active side. She enjoys regular walks and will benefit from an adopter who can provide daily exercise and engagement. Mental stimulation is just as important for her, as she is quick to learn and enjoys being involved in whatever is happening around her.

 

Other Dogs & Animals:

Punky gets along well with other greyhounds and enjoys their company. Her foster carer feels she may be suitable for a home with cats or small dogs, however she has not yet been formally tested, so any introductions would need to be done carefully and with guidance.

 

Quirks & Fun Facts:

• Loves chasing and eating pesky horseflies

• Extremely cuddly and affectionate

• Very clever and already opening doors

• A constant little black shadow following her people around
